A Boho-Luxe Wedding at a Chateau in the South of France

Where to begin with this wedding? Brooke and Yann had a wildly romantic château wedding in the South of France and let me tell ya, it was a GOOD one! From their lively rehearsal dinner party, to the relaxed wedding day preparations and ceremony, to the crazy ass party that lasted till 4am ... it was EVERYTHING. Their day was a mix of classic french styling, with a modern boho vibe. Yann and his whole family is from Southern France, and it was magical meeting all of them and seeing how they celebrate love in their country. This day was truly one for the books.

The wedding party spent the morning getting ready at their venue, a stunning french chateau in the countryside. It was so peaceful and serene, the perfect place to host a wedding. When I arrived on the wedding day the girls were all in their cute matching pj sets drinking mimosas out of their custom tumblers that Brooke made them. Brooke even made me one, how sweet is that? The guys were another story, they were relaxing and drinking until the last second, very typical groomsmen haha. Once everyone was dressed, Brooke’s dad arrived and shared a very emotional first look with his daughter.

I left for the ceremony spot and started to shoot all the gorgeous details Brooke and Yann had set up for the ceremony. There were classic floral touches of neutrals, pinks and yellows — so effortless yet chic. Their ceremony was full of love as they had Brooke’s brother and law and Yann’s cousin officiate the ceremony. The ceremony was in both english and french, which was so brilliant. It was so heartwarming to watch both of their families smile from ear to ear as they read their vows to each other. The excitement from the families grew as the new bride and groom walked down the aisle, carried into their cocktail hour that had wine that Yann’s cousin made, and lots and lots of appetizers. One of the apps were these tiny cheeseburgers and they were so good I swear I think about them regularly. If there is one thing you should know about weddings with the French, they will absolutely NOT have bad food at their wedding. It is a sin to them, and I appreciate that the most when it comes to any celebration in France.

Brooke and Yann were having so much fun at their 2 hour cocktail party that taking them away for portraits made me so dang sad, but we had to do it. We wrapped 20 minutes of sunset photos around the chateau before their grand entrance into their reception. Dinner was incredible (duh!), speeches were so lovely and personal, BUT THE DANCE FLOOR was best part of the night! You don’t know french weddings till you are dancing non stop till the sun comes up.

I fell in love with this couple during their time planning this wedding, and then our time working together at the wedding. I have successfully made Brooke and Yann our real life friends and now I feel beyond lucky that I got to be a huge part in one of Caleb and my friends wedding.
