Elegance x Industrial Downtown Kansas City Wedding

This blog post is hard to write only because I do not know where to start with this couple. From the moment I met Hannah (and Tyler hahaha) I was just in awe of her energy, spirit, and her willingness to make everyone feel cared about. Tyler just let Hannah be Hannah, and he so obviously loved her for it. They both were total goofs too, which drew me over the line of obsession. They both just trusted me to do my job from the get go and it was such a relaxing feeling. I got to see their vision, but also be told to just shoot the way I normally shoot because they loved the authenticity of my work.

Getting Ready at the Savoy 21C Hotel

The day started with Hannah and Tyler getting ready with their two bridesmaids and groomsmen which also turned out to be their siblings. Hannah’s mom was also in the room adding all the good energy to the gorgeous light filled suite at The Savoy 21c Hotel. Everyone was truly enjoying their morning as they got ready. No rushing around to make a timeline, just genuine peace and enjoyment of the moment and the day ahead. Hannah did a first look with her dad which turned out to be one of the most emotional ones I have ever shot. Then she went right into her first look with Tyler which was hilarious. It was basically Hannah gushing over Tyler and Tyler making sure he showed some emotion for the camera haha. The opted into sharing their vows during their first look where things got beautifully emotional yet again. We wrapped up some posh portraits at the hotel before heading over to Cherry Hall for the ceremony and reception.

A Wedding at Cherry Hall Event Space

Hannah and Tyler had their ceremony outside at sunset. The glow coming in from the last remaining sunlight was gorgeous and gave such a beautiful vibe to the ceremony. The couple exchanged their vows and rings in front of their closest family and friends before exchanging a kiss and celebrating down the aisle. We took the last bit of golden hour light to squeeze in some celebratory wedding party photos, as well as a few romantic portraits of the couple. Once Tyler was all photo’d out we gave him back his double vodka soda and sent them on their way to make their grand entrance into their reception where they were to be announced as the new Mr. and Mrs. by KC’s best wedding band, Lost Wax.

The night ended with a ton of epics dance moves and a rap solo, brought to us by the bride Hannah, and a dance party with cardboard cut outs of the couples dogs! This day truly didn’t feel like another day at work, but a celebration of two people I now get to call dear friends!
